“I Believe in ME”

More than any other sport or activity, the martial arts gives a child the mental and physical skills to succeed in everything they do. Our children’s program is challenging and fun while we encourage every child to strive to do their personal best. In addition to PHYSICAL SKILLS, we teach LIFE SKILLS such as Discipline, Goal Setting, Confidence, Leadership and Respect. Students learn to set and achieve goals, while building self esteem in a fun, safe and educational atmosphere. Our instructors are role models that will help give your child the extra edge to succeed in life!

Kelly's Championship Martial Arts puts Character Development as the primary focus of every child's martial arts experience. During each class children take part in mat chat time that will consist of the "Word of the Month" and a discussion on how we can use that word in our school life, home life, and with our friends. A work sheet is handed out at the beginning of each month for the children to complete at home with their parents, signed and returned to their martial arts instructor. KCMA also incorporates a program called "Six Task". Six Tasks is a Character Development program where students are asked to perform and "log in" six theme-based "tasks" involving more than 1000 actions.  The objective of the program is to have a significant, positive impact on our student's behavior outside of our school.  The program is administered through six wallet-sized booklets (journals) and upon completion of each journal the student earns a merit badge (patch) that corresponds with the themes of each task. Each task is assigned to a specific belt level. The tasks are:

1. Respect: 50 acts of Courtesy, Kindness, and Respect

2. Teamwork: 50 Home Chores

3. Perseverance: 1,000 Repetitions

4. Self - Discipline: Five days of healthy eating

5. Leadership: Ten mentoring sessions with another student

6. Knowledge: Read two assigned books; write ten letters
