Dear Members, Families, and Friends of KMA;

During the next month, our school will participate in a national project called the “Thanksgiving Basket Brigade.”   Our mission is to deliver Thanksgiving dinners directly to needy families in our area!  We have decided that our families will be the 8 Angels Arms Foster Homes of  St. Louis.  A typical basket will include a turkey, bread, baked goods, green beans, corn, cranberries, gravy, a roasting pan, and other items necessary so the family can make a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner.

 

With your generosity, we will reach this goal.  We are counting on all of our members to participate in the Kick-A-Thon on November 12, 2011 at Concord School.  A Kick-A-Thon sponsorship sheet is included in this packet.  Each member should contact neighbors, friends and relatives to sign up as many sponsors as possible.  Sponsors can contribute an amount for each kick members perform during the Kick-A-Thon or offer a flat donation.  Members ages 7 and above have a goal to perform 1,000 kicks.  Members ages 6 or under have a goal to perform 500 kicks, though most will do 1,000.  If a sponsor agrees to two cents per kick and the member reaches 1,000 kicks, that person will donate $20.

 

The Angles Arms Foster Homes have 5- 7 children per home with two parents.  We are also collecting can goods and other staple food items, toilet paper, and laundry soap for the homes.  We will start our collection immediately so please drop off your donations when you attend class.

Our School as a whole should be able to perform 500,000 kicks!  Last year we did that and collected enough food and money to feed 10 families.  The Kick-A-Thon will be fun and motivating, we will train each class to prepare our members for this big event!

Summary

1.      Our objective is to provide Thanksgiving meals for the 8 foster homes of Angels Arms.

2.      Get your sponsors for the Kick-A-Thon November 12, 2011

3.      Collect Food, Paper Products, and Cleaning items to donate now!

4.      The average cost of each dinner is $45 please work hard and let’s all have Fun!
